Welcome to the University of Minnesota Med-Peds Program The mission of the Department of Medicine-Pediatrics is to provide the learning experiences, feedback and mentoring to help each Medicine-Pediatrics resident become exceptional physicians on the career path of their choice, to improve the care delivery and health outcomes at our participating sites and to champion the cause of transition and care of adolescents and adults with childhood-onset disease. We accomplish this by combining the best of two nationally renowned categorical programs in a setting that fosters personal growth, pursuit of professional excellence and academic inquiry, while supporting balance in life. Our success is measured by the accomplishments of our graduates. The Med-Peds community here in the Twin Cities has grown dramatically since our program's inception in 1989. As one of the largest programs in the nation, we have graduated nearly 200 Med-Peds-trained physicians. The result may be seen in the number of thriving local Med-Peds primary care and combined hospitalist practices; niche Med-Peds subspecialty practices; and a full roster of Med-Peds academicians. These physicians are a phenomenal resource for mentoring and add great depth to the residency experience here. Information on resident life, the categorical programs, the Med-Peds curriculum, the application process, and life in the Twin Cites are included within this Web site. Take advantage of the "Ask a Med-Peds Resident" area, as our residents best exemplify the strength and diversity of the program. Director, Med-Peds Residency Program E-mail: Bradley J.
