About Our Residents
 Take a look at last year’s intern class and you can see that we attract residents not only from the U of MN or the Midwest, but from across the country, including strong schools in the East Coast, West Coast, and Southwest regions. We also accept several outstanding international medical graduates every year, particularly those who have ties to the Twin Cities community and its wide variety of immigrant populations.
About half of our residents pursue fellowships, one quarter seek hospitalist positions, and one quarter enter primary care internal medicine. If you ask any recent graduate about their experience, they will often reply that the broad based training and the three hospital sites prepare them well for any type of practice setting. Our residents are also well rounded. Many of them have families; they all have unique hobbies and interests; they definitely enjoy spending time together outside of work, whether it is intern bowling night, fluid rounds, or the latest musical or theater event.
