About Our Program
From the Program Director
Welcome to the University of Minnesota Internal Medicine Residency Program. We are in the eye of a revolution of medical care and practice. Our nationally renowned faculty and hospitals are leaders in research and advancing patient care in cardiology, intensive care, hematology/oncology, rheumatology, endocrinology, pulmonary, nephrology, transplantation medicine and general internal medicine. When you join us, you will be joining a team that provides state-of-the-art care to patients.
Our program excels in providing a broad and deep patient population represented by three dedicated teaching hospitals (University of Minnesota Medical Center - Fairview, Minneapolis VA Medical Center and Regions Hospital). In addition, we offer strong teaching, nationally recognized educational leadership, an exceptionally friendly and supportive learning environment, faculty mentorship and support in scholarship and career planning, and innovative integration of the six general competencies and outcomes assessment. We truly know and care about every one of our residents! We are a big academic program with heart.
