A Team Approach to Care

In addition to board-certified neurologists, the Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders Center staff includes several nurse clinicians with specialized training in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, a staff psychologist, a neuropsychologist and collaboration with individuals in Restorative Medicine, i.e., Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

Comprehensive, coordinated care is provided to treat the whole patient-mind, body and spirit.  Care is tailored to each individual patient with education and support as key elements in the care plan.

Patient-Centered Comprehensive Care

At the Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders Center, we provide consultation to assess a variety of movement disorders. A diagnosis and treatment plan will be instituted and provided to the patients and referring physicians.  Some patients may need to be admitted to the hospital for further testing and treatment.  Patients return to their primary care physicians with their treatment plan and continue consultations when necessary.

The key component of each patient’s treatment plan is improvement of quality of life by addressing physical, psychological, social and employment issues.
