Listen to a podcast about Match Day

WHAT: University of Minnesota Medical School Match Day
WHEN: Thursday, March 19, 2009
10:30 a.m. to 12 noon
WHERE: McNamara Alumni Center
University of Minnesota, East
200 Oak St. S.E.|
Minneapolis, MN 55455
BACKGROUND: During this rite of passage, University of Minnesota fourth-year medical students find out where they will study as residents – becoming official doctors-in-training. At 11 a.m., students will open envelopes to discover for the first time which hospital or program they’ve been accepted to complete their residency training. The occasion is marked with family and friends sharing shouts of excitement, tears of joy, and students frantically calling their friends to share the good news. Each of hundreds of students, who will graduate with their M.D. May 2, 2009, has a unique story. Many of them will gladly share their stories before they move on to tackle the next step in their medical careers.

Dedicated to excellence, diversity and service, the University of Minnesota Medical School educates the next generation of physicians, advances patient care, and discovers breakthroughs in biomedical research that enhance health in Minnesota and beyond.
