Logging Duty Hours

There are three main sections to RMS Duty Hours:

Site Acronyms:

• ABNW – Abbott
• FVRS – Fairview Riverside
• HCMC – Hennepin
• MERC – Mercy
• NMMH – North Memorial
• PNMD – Methodist
• RGHP – Regions
• UMMC – U of MN Medical Properties and Clinics (such as Women’s Health Clinic)
• UMN – U of MN Academic Buildings (such as Ob/Gyn Dept in Moos Tower)
• VAMC – VA Medical Center

Tips: 

• When entering hours, think first about where you worked then what you did.  RMS and Medicare reporting are site specific, so it is important to document accurately where you were and then what you did there. 
• Hours for the month must be completely entered by the fifth day of the next month.  Reports will be run on the 1^st day of the preceding month to confirm all hours are current.  If they are not, you will receive a reminder text page or e-mail.  Individuals who do not complete their hours risk being pulled from their duties.
• Do not account for travel time in your hours.
• Enter conferences and meetings first, then fill in your other hours.
• Similar activities, such as Monday Conferences, Didactics, Grand Rounds, etc., are grouped together under Instructor Led Learning.
