Research in Gynecologic Oncology
Currently, the Division of Gynecologic Oncology conducts more than 25 active investigator initiated, cooperative group, and industry sponsored clinical trials at the University of Minnesota. Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota
The faculty of the Division of Gynecologic Oncology are members of the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota. As one of only 39 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute, the Masonic Cancer Center strives to advance the understanding of cancer and enhance treatment for patients. Gynecologic Oncology Group (GOG)
The Division of Gynecologic Oncology at the University of Minnesota has been a member of the Gynecologic Oncology Group for over 30 years. The GOG is a non-profit organization with the purpose of promoting excellence in the quality and integrity of clinical and basic scientific research in the field of Gynecologic malignancies. To promote this mission, the GOG receives support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI) of the National Institutes for Health (NIH).
GOG consists of approximately 50 nationally known institutions, medical schools, colleges and universities, and many affiliated hospitals. Approximately 45 individual clinical trials are active at any one time within GOG for patients with a variety of gynecologic malignancies, including cancers that arise from the ovaries, uterus, cervix, vagina, and vulva.
