| The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Women's Health Department Research Council is comprised of members from each division. The current Council Chair is Dr. Daniel V. Landers. The Council meets once every other month to discuss current issues. For more information contact Sue Marshall.
Research Council Mission/Purpose
- Initiate a process of assessing departmental research strengths and current areas of expertise.Identify areas of focus with an emphasis on recruitment and supportReview all departmental research proposals prior to submission whether or not the proposal will need a review by departmental IRB subcommittee (this committee will conduct peer review of proposals with human subjects to meet IRB requirements.
- Develop comprehensive plan for mentoring research careers of faculty at all levels of advancement. Initiate strategies for research goals.
- Review departmental research infrastructure and assess needed changes to optimize the departmental research services (e.g., accounting, regulatory status, space use and equipment needs)
- Develop and monitor plan for evaluation and administration of internal grants process.
