Dr. Wright received her bachelor and medical degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. She completed a flexible internship at Tucson Hospitals Medical Education Program in Tucson, Arizona, and her residency in ophthalmology at the Kellogg Eye Center of the University of Michigan. In the year following her residency, Dr. Wright joined the faculty at the University of Michigan as an Instructor in Ophthalmology. She spent a portion of that year working as a volunteer ophthalmologist in India and Nepal with the SEVA Foundation. She then completed a two-year clinical and research fellowship in glaucoma at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of the University of Miami. Dr. Wright joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 1991 and is the Director of the Glaucoma Service. She is also the Director of the Residency Program and holds the Haven Professorship in Glaucoma.
Her research interests include the use of anti-fibrotics in glaucoma filtering surgery and wound healing. She specializes in patients of all ages with glaucoma.
