Medicine at Minnesota

Physicians and researchers in the Department of Ophthalmology are part of an outstanding team of 600 scientists at the University of Minnesota.  Each day they search for discoveries that will lead to new therapies – new treatments – that will make today’s sight-threatening diseases become tomorrow’s treatable disorders.

Support world-class ophthalmic research in your own backyard.  Here’s how:

·        Make a gift today.  You may support the area of ophthalmic research that most closely touches your life (pediatric ophthalmology, cornea, glaucoma, macular degeneration, neuro-ophthalmology, retina, oculo-plastics, etc.)  Simply click on the “Make a Gift to Ophthalmology” icon, located to the left, to make your gift today.

·         Ask your doctor how you can support his/her research programs.  Your University of Minnesota physician is also a research scientist.  Many patients choose to honor their doctor by contributing to their specific research projects.  You can too.

·         Meet those who benefit.  Why should you want medical research programs at the University of Minnesota to be among the best in the world? The answer is as close as your next door neighbor - or a loved one at your own dinner table. The world-class medical research going on right here in your own backyard will help ensure that those who care for you and your loved ones are at the leading edge of medical science.

·        Request more information.  If you would like additional information on a particular area of research, or you would like to learn more about various ways to help fund U of M ophthalmic research, please email your question to: j.gorell@mmf.umn.edu or contact the:
