We provide care in our treatment centers for approximately 71,000 patients annually and have experts in all six subspeciality areas of ophthalmology.

Treatment Centers

Macular Degeneration Center
In addition to offering patient care for those with macular or retinal disease, faculty members also do basic and clinical research to develop new therapies to fight the leading cause of blindness.

Visual Rehabilitation Center
This center helps people whose vision cannot be corrected make the most of their remaining vision through the use of vision-preserving techniques and tools.

Lasik and Refractive Surgery Center
Three different types of corrective eye surgery are offered through this center, where physicians work with patients to find the best solution to correct their vision. 

International Albinism Center
This center brings together experts in genetics and ophthalmology to study and treat eye problems that arise in people with albinism, an inherited disorder that affects production of pigment in the eyes, skin, and hair.

Center for Eyelid and Facial Spasms
This center provides patient care for persons with spasms of the eyelids and face.

Center for Thyroid Eye Disease
A multi-specialty care team comes together to offer patients coordinated care and the latest in diagnosis and treatment of thyroid eye disease.

Retinoblastoma Center
A team of ophthalmologists, oncologists, and other specialists come together to develop a treatment plan for this rare childhood cancer.

Sub Specialty Areas

Cornea and Refractive Surgery Service
We treat cataracts and the entire range of conditions affecting the front portion of the eye; including corneal diseases, infections, dry eyes, tumors, trauma and other complications.

General Ophthalmology Service
All patients who have not been specifically referred to specialty areas are seen in the General Ophthalmology Clinic.

Glaucoma Service
Our glaucoma specialists treat glaucoma, glaucoma suspect, and ocular hypertension patients of all ages, including infants and children.  We treat cataracts in adults.

Neuro-ophthalmology Service
Our experts in this specialty bridge the gap between ophthalmology and neurology, treating disorders that affect both the eye and the nervous system.

Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Service
Our physicians are skilled at cosmetic and reconstructive surgery for the eyelids, orbits and tear ducts, for both acquired and genetic diseases.

Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Service
We treat a wide variety of pediatric eye issues, including cataracts, glaucoma, strabismus, or lack of coordination between eyes, and amblyopia (lazy eye).

Vitreoretinal Service
Our retina specialists provide care for various retinal conditions including retinal tears, macular degeneration, and patients benefit from our strength in basic and translational research.

Contact Lens Service
Contact lenses are a popular option to wearing glasses. Contact lenses can also be part of the visual rehabilitation of a patient after eye surgery, such as a corneal transplant. At our Contact Lens Clinic, we provide the latest in contact lens care. In addition to gas permable and soft lens designs, we fit the latest designs for bifocals, keratoconic designs and post-surgical designs including scleral lenses.
