WELCOME !

We would like to extend a warm welcome to you as you visit this website on Acoustic Neuroma. You or one of your family members or friends may have been diagnosed with an Acoustic Neuroma. Like any other tumor in the body which requires treatment, the diagnosis of an Acoustic Neuroma can be overwhelming and scary, not just for the patients, but also for their families. The good news is that these tumors are benign and can be surgically removed with a low rate of recurrence-so there is hope for treatment. Radiation therapy now offers non-surgical treatment for selected cases.

In our experience, most patients experience shock after being told they have a tumor near the brain that needs to be surgically removed. As a result, information from their doctor about the course of treatment usually goes unregistered. This website has been developed to provide newly diagnosed Acoustic Neuroma patients with information to help evaluate their treatment options and make an informed decision. However, the final decision should be made only after consultation with your neurotologist or neurosurgeon. We wish you all the very best.
