The Allergy & Asthma section is very active in clinical education. We offer courses and other educational opportunities for students and others at many levels in their training.
Allergy & Immunology Fellowship Program
This is a 2-year training program for physicians who have completed internal medicine, pediatrics, or med/peds residencies. Click on Allergy Fellowship to the right for more information and an application.
Medical Residents
Medical residents can opt to do a four-week rotation through the allergy clinic. Sign up in the medical education office (Julie Cole, 612-626-5031) approximately one year in advance.
Medical Students
There are two opportunities for medical students to gain experience in allergy and asthma:
Med 7533– Clinical Allergy at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview (same as Ped 7533) (3 week rotation)

PharmD Students
PharmD students at the University can opt to do a five-week outpatient ambulatory care rotation through the allergy clinic. Sign up through Raquel Rodriguez (612-626-1163) in the education office approximately one year in advance.
Annual Allergy CME Course
The Allergy Course is designed as a continuing medical education course for practicing allergy and asthma physicians, nurses, technicians, and students. This year’s Allergy Course will be held in the spring of 2008 at the Radisson Hotel University, date to be announced. Please check back for more details.
Metropolitan Allergy Conference
The Metropolitan Allergy Conference (MAC) held 2-3 times a year at local restaurants. Nationally and internationally renowned speakers are brought in to give educational presentations to local allergists.
