Sleep medicine experience is now an integral and vital component of the overall training in pulmonary and critical care. As part of the faculty at the University, I am focused on creating learning pathways for fellows and residents to enhance practical experience and provide research opportunities in the field. My current research involves comparison of a dental device with and without the addition of positional therapy for treatment of mild to moderate OSA, funded by HealthPartners Research Foundation. In collaboration with the Intensive Care Unit faculty at Regions Hospital, research projects studying the effects of sleep disorders in critically ill patients are also being actively developed.
