Assistant Professor

Originally from Canada, Dr. Burton received a B.Sc. in biomedical science from the University of Toronto. She obtained her MD from the Royal College of Surgeons in Dublin, Ireland. Her subsequent post-graduate training was centered in Minnesota; an Internal Medicine residency and Critical Care fellowship at Hennepin Country Medical Center followed by a Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic-Rochester completed in 1999.

Following several years in private practice in Missouri and then the Twin Cities she joined the faculty of the University of Minnesota in the fall of 2008 as a member of the Medical Intensive Care service at Fairview Southdale Hospital.
