Avi Nahum, MD


Dr. Avi Nahum Chief-of-Staff, Regions Hospital
Associate Professor

Avi Nahum obtained his PhD from Yale University in Applied Engineering and Applied Sciences. He subsequently attended Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. He finished his internal residency and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Chicago. He then joined Regions Hospital and has been there since 1990. His research interests are pulmonary physiology with emphasis on mechanical ventilation and lung injury. He has been recently interested in medical administration and has served as the chief-of-staff of Regions Hospital in 2004 and 2005. His current interests are in quality and performance around clinical systems projects and hospital acquired infections of the critically ill patient.
