Jeffrey B. Rubins, MD

Dr. Jeff Rubin and Bronchoscopy Michine

Professor

My clinical activities focus on resident and fellow education, and on sleep apnea and early detection of lung cancer. As medical director for our sleep apnea program, I supervise the evaluation and treatment of approximately 180 patients referred each month with suspected obstructive sleep apnea, using a new approach of unattended cardiopulmonary studies and autotitrating CPAP.

I also  direct the management of 600 patients who are being followed in early lung cancer detection programs. As part of our diagnostic program, we have just acquired a superDimension bronchoscopy system to allow electomagnetic navigation in biopsys of small pulmonary lesions outside the range of traditional bronchoscopy.

My clinical interests derive from my previous research investigations in lung cancer, pleural effusion, and pneumococcal vaccination.
