Brad Chmielewski, M.D.


Dr. Brad Chmielewski Dr. Bradley Chmielewski graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2003. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Hennepin County Medical Center in 2006, where he developed an interest in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Dr. Chmielewski’s current fellowship allows him the opportunity to further his research interest with support from the NIH T32 training grant at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Chmielewski is currently using proteomic technology to study the manifestation of emphysema in patients suffering from COPD. His research aims include: (1) developing a screening test for emphysema, (2) furthering the understanding of the underlying pathogenesis of emphysema, (3) identifying steps in the pathway of the disease amenable to treatment.
