Katherine Schiller

Education:     1999 – 2003:  B.A., College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, MN
                       2003 – 2007:  M.S., University of Minnesota
                       2006 – Present: Graduate Student, University of Minnesota

Research Project:    Katherine has made excellent progress on her research project. She has successfully engineered a lentivirus-based expression vector for introduction of shRNAs into epithelial cells for selective knockdown of ion channel and G-protein receptor molecules relevant to her project. In addition, she is co-author on an article published in the Journal of Physiology that is based on her studies of SK channel function in PEG cells. Her coursework performance has been excellent. Overall, Katie is an outstanding student and she is making rapid progress towards completing the requirements for the PhD degree in physiology.
