When it comes to teaching resources, we have some of the finest hands-on “classrooms” in the nation.
Our Medical School faculty physicians care for patients and oversee the training of residents and medical students in our primary teaching hospitals: University of Minnesota Medical Center, Fairview and University of Minnesota Amplatz Children’s Hospital.
We also supply residents and clinical experts to hospitals and clinics throughout the state of Minnesota.
More than 1,030 full-time faculty members and 2,800 preceptor faculty members educate more than 1,700 students in the University’s M.D. program, and more than 970 specialty residency and fellowship physicians, at hospitals and clinical sites across Minnesota.
UMMC is among the most respected teaching institutions in the nation -- ranked among the best hospitals by U.S. News & World Report for exceptional care across 7 clinical specialties.
