Paul has a B.A. in Political Science from Bates College, an M.Div. from Pacific School of Religion, and an M.S.W. from the University of Minnesota. Before moving to Minnesota, he worked for the federal government as a research analyst in Washington, DC and as a community organizer in California. In Minnesota, Snyder has a history of working with children, youth, families, and communities from diverse settings, including self-directed adolescents working on alcohol, tobacco, illegal drug, and violence prevention issues; community coalitions seeking to increase their capacity to address prevention and early intervention issues; and interfaith community-organizing that bolsters communities of varying means to advocate for policies that insure that basic needs are met. In recent years, he has volunteered as a youth mentor and as an adult advisor to a self-directed youth board.
