Dr. Ramsay is a Professor Emeritus, Department of Pediatrics.  She was the Division Director for the Pediatric Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program from 1979-2004, and for the combined divisions of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation from 1998 - 2004.

She is an internationally known researcher in the area of bone marrow transplantation.  She received a medical degree with honors from the University of Manitoba in 1968, and completed both her residency and fellowship at the University of Minnesota. She was appointed Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota in 1985, Director of the Division of Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation in 1979 and Director of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology since 1996. She served as co-Program Leader of the Transplant Biology and Therapy Program of the University of Minnesota Cancer Center.

Dr. Ramsay is recognized for her research and clinical contribution in bone marrow transplantation, including transplantation for severe aplastic anemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.  Dr. Ramsay has published several hundred papers on bone marrow transplantation and pediatric oncology, and is a member of numerous national societies.
