The Minnesota CF Center Newborn Screening Program

As you may already know, the Minnesota Department of Health recently added cystic fibrosis (CF) to the list of disorders tested for in its newborn screening program. We are proud to have been involved in the effort to have CF added to newborn screening. We believe there is already strong and compelling evidence that demonstrates the great benefit that children with CF and their families get from early diagnosis and treatment.  More information on the CF Center Newborn Screening Program

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation wanted to notify you of this important recall concerning B. Cepacia in Vicks sinex nasal spray

The Procter & Gamble Company today initiated a voluntary recall of three lots of its Vicks Sinex nasal spray in three countries: the United States, Germany and the United Kingdom. The company issued the recall as a precautionary step after finding the bacteria B. cepacia in a small amount of product made at its plant in Gross Gerau, Germany.

H1N1 - Notice to CF Patients followed at the Minnesota CF Center

For Pediatric CF Patients Only:

We strongly suggest that you first check  for H1N1 vaccine availability with your primary care clinic as supply is limited in our clinic.

At this time there is no H1N1 vaccine available for adult CF patients.  Please check our web site frequently for updates. We do not recommend that our patients receive the intranasal vaccine, which is a live vaccine.  We do recommend that our patients wait for the injectable vaccine.
