About Our Center


The CF Foundation (CFF) has accredited the Minnesota CF Center at the highest level.

  • Our team has gained national and international recognition for its level of excellence and leadership in CF.

  • The CF Foundation supports 115 accredited Centers in the US. Accredited CF Centers are only those that demonstrate excellence in clinical care as well as the presence of strong research and teaching programs.

One of the first CF Foundation-accredited centers in the United States

  • Founded in 1961 to develop approaches to understanding and treating the complications of CF

First CF Center in the US to successfully apply the concept of preventive care to CF

  • Strong emphasis on aggressive prevention and treatment of CF symptoms at as early an age as possible

First CF Center with a family education program, the cornerstone of our program. 

  • Instruction on CF symptoms and care, genetics, and the social and psychological impact of CF
  • Annual CF Education Day for families, patients and health care providers
  • Multi-disciplinary educational program for newly diagnosed patients and families that includes a year of monthly CF education and support sessions
  • Age-specific programs: Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult

Active participant in the initial quality improvement efforts of the CF Foundation, with ongoing leadership and benchmark Center participation.

  • The quantitative chloride patch for sweat testing
  • The high frequency chest compression vest system for chest physiotherapy
  • First computerized pulmonary function laboratory in Minnesota
