Fiona S. Anderson, Ph.D., L.P. is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Pediatric Clinical Neuroscience. Dr. Anderson is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist who completed her Ph.D. in Child Psychology (joint program in child psychology and clinical psychology) at the University of Minnesota in 1999. She completed her internship at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics, Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota, and a two year fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology here at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
Dr. Anderson has clinical interests in general pediatric neuropsychology with special interest in the effects of chronic illnesses and their treatments on neuropsychological functioning and development, and also in the neuropsychological functioning of children with significant psychiatric disturbances. Dr. Anderson is the director of inpatient consultation for Pediatric Neuropsychology, and also serves on the internship training committee.
Dr. Anderson is involved in research with the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology to study the effects of cancer and its treatment on neuropsychological functioning, and is also developing a research program to investigate the effects of early onset diabetes on the developing brain. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, International Neuropsychological Society, Society of Pediatric Psychology, and Society for Research in Child Development.
