Dr. Marie Steiner is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Divisions of Pediatric Critical Care, Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation at the University of Minnesota and attends on both services.

Dr. Steiner received her M.D. degree in 1982 from the University of Minnesota.  She completed her Pediatric Residency at the University of Minnesota in 1985 and her Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at the University of Minnesota in 1989.  In addition she completed a Critical Care Fellowship at the University in 1989.  After her completing her fellowships, Dr. Steiner joined the faculty at West Virginia University School of Medicine in Morgantown, West Virginia.  Dr. Steiner held appointments in the areas of Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplantation.  She subsequently returned to Minneapolis and rejoined the faculty of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Blood and Marrow Transplantation at the University of Minnesota.  Dr. Steiner is board certified in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and Critical Care.

Dr. Steiner has focused her research activities on coagulation disturbances in the critically ill pediatric patient.
