Info for Prospective Fellows
We’re excited that you’re considering a fellowship here in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota. This page will provide you with information about our programs, application to our programs, and relocating and living in Minnesota. Our graduates are involved across the spectrum of the pediatric workforce. Out of 82 fellows who had graduated from our department between 1998-2008 (73% response rate of total fellow graduates): • 49% have careers in academic medicine as full-time faculty • 40% are in private clinical practice • 17% have academic adjunct/affiliate faculty appointments • 11% have health care administration roles (e.g. division director) • 11% have advocacy roles (e.g. AAP committee member) • 9% have a role in educational leadership (e.g. fellowship program director) • 5% have a role in academic administration (e.g. IRB member) Program Information: Please visit the quick information links below to learn more about each program. Application to our Programs: The following programs use the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP) to fill their fellowship positions: Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, Hematology/Oncology and Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine. For all other programs, please contact the program directly. Our programs either use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to manage their applications or manage the applications internally within the program.
