Funding: Children’s Hospitals of MN

Strengths of program:

  • Very strong clinical program based at the two Children’s Hospitals with 70,000 visits per year
  • Faculty located at both Children’s (30 full time ED staff physicians) and UMN
  • Close relationship with two major level 1 trauma centers (Regions’ and HCMC)
  • Intramural grant for research available through IRGP at Children’s Hospital and support available through CCIR (Center for care innovation and research)

General Schedule:

Clinical vs. Research: 6 months in Peds ED each year, 8 research months
Call responsibilities: 15 shifts in ED on service months and none during off-service months, no call from home except in 1 month PICU elective
