These lead to an in-depth understanding of biostatistics, clinical and laboratory research methodology, study design, grant application, critical literature review, principles of evidence based medicine, ethics and achievement of proficiency in teaching. The University of Minnesota thru WebCT and in traditional lecture format conducts these.

The Emergency Medicine Basic Research Skills (EMBRS) Workshop is offered to pediatric emergency medicine fellows to get started with their research project. This program provides a broad overview of the basics from idea to IRB approval to final presentation and publication.
