The Division of Pediatric Epidemiology and Clinical Research is comprised of individuals with training and expertise in epidemiology, genetics, molecular biology, exercise physiology, pharmacology, biostatistics, pediatrics, and methodology. Examples of current research projects include:
- Molecular epidemiology studies of leukemia, hepatoblastoma, myelodysplastic syndrome, rhabdomyosarcoma, germ cell tumor and osteosarcoma
- Exposure assessment in neonatal blood spots
- Drug therapies targeting cardiometabolic risk factors in severely obese children
- Novel methods to characterize arterial health in children
- Mouse models in relation to exposure-disease relationships relevant to pediatrics
- Dietary intervention in pediatric cancer survivors
- Bias in studies of pediatric disease
- Database development and analysis in collaboration with other Divisions within the department
Members of the Division are affiliated with the Division of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and the Masonic Cancer Center, University of Minnesota.
