Dr. Ognjanovic joined the faculty in August 2006 as an Assistant Professor.  She received a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Hawaii in 2002, with a focus on molecular endocrinology and inflammatory cytokines.  Her dissertation was on pre-B cell colony enhancing factor (PBEF currently known as visfatin) in preterm birth.  She also recently completed a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular cancer epidemiology under Dr. Loic LeMarchand at the University of Hawaii.  Dr. Ognjanovic's research interests include the role of adipokines and inflammatory cytokines in the etiology of childhood cancer and other pediatric diseases.
