The Division of Pediatric Epidemiology and Clinical Research is comprised of individuals with training and expertise in epidemiology, genetics, molecular biology, exercise physiology, pharmacology, biostatistics, pediatrics, and methodology. Examples of current research projects include:
- Inflammatory factors in adolescents in relation to metabolic syndrome, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes
- Bias in studies of pediatric disease
- Molecular epidemiology of infant leukemia and hepatoblastoma
- Genetic epidemiology of osteosarcoma
- Exposure assessment in Guthrie cards
- Control selection on a national scale in pediatric studies
- Mouse models in relation to exposure-disease relationships relevant to pediatrics
- Pharmacogenetics and kinetics of drug metabolism in obese children
- Cytokine profiles in bone marrow transplant recipients
Members of the Division are affiliated with the Division of Epidemiology in the School of Public Health and the University of Minnesota Comprehensive Cancer Center.
