Abraham Jacob, MD joined the Department of Pediatrics in 2005 and serves in the Division of General Pediatrics and as Director of the Pediatric Hospitalist Program. He is a regular staff attending on the General Pediatric service at the University of Minnesota Children's Hospital as well as serving as a staff attending on the Internal Medicine service.

After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Jacob went on to medical school at the Medical College of Ohio where he graduated from in 1994. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine/ Pediatrics residency at the University of Minnesota in 1998. After finishing residency, he was in a busy primary care practice and served as medical director of Fairview Eagan Clinic. During his years in primary care practice, he precepted residents and medical students and served in various leadership and governance roles.

He joins the department to start a Pediatric hospitalist service with hopes of improving inpatient care delivery and building the general pediatric inpatient service. His interests include health care delivery, resident education, family centered care, primary care and improving access for medical providers and patients in the community. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine.
