Mission Statement

"The University of Minnesota Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition Fellowship Program aims to train fellows to become independent and appropriately skilled Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition consultants interested in pursuing academic careers in clinical and/or research medicine. The educational goals of the program are:
1) to provide an appropriate training environment where fellows increase their knowledge through direct interaction with a wide variety of patients requiring GI subspecialty care
2) to provide a congenial setting fostering inquiry in both the clinical and basic sciences and resulting in a research project by the fellow
3) to foster professionalism, responsibility, respect, ethics and compassion for patients and their families
4) to equip fellows with the tools required for critical thinking and future success as independent and productive academic pediatric gastroenterologists."
