The Alport Syndrome Foundation
The Alport Syndrome Foundation (ASF) is a volunteer-led organization formed in 2007 by families affected by this disease. [Alport Syndrome Foundation] ASF is a non-profit corporation of concerned families and friends that want to make a difference. The Alport Syndrome Foundation has been built on the past efforts of the late Dr. Curtis Atkin of the University of Utah and the Hereditary Nephritis Foundation (HNF).
ASF's MISSION is to educate and support patients and their families that have been affected by this genetic kidney disease with the goal of funding research to find more effective treatment protocols and a cure for Alport Syndrome.

Nephrology and Hypertension Division
The division provides education, patient care and research in all aspects of the pathogenesis and treatment of renal disease and hypertension. The Division of Nephrology & Hypertension employs 19 full-time faculty. Consultation services are maintained at the University of Utah Health Sciences Center and the Veterans Administration Medical Center. The division directs and maintains an integrated dialysis program, providing all modes of dialysis and renal transplantation. Dialysis units are located at University of Utah Health Sciences Center, Veterans Administration Medical Center and several satellite locations throughout the Intermountain West. Each faculty member is active in clinical and/or basic research.
