Dr. Najera joined the division of Pediatric Nephrology in 2001.  She participates in teaching medical students and residents.  In addition to teaching medical students and residents, her research interest is in the effects autoimmune diseases have on kidney function.  This is particularly important in children, since they seem to have significant renal manifestations associated with autoimmune disease.  Dr. Najera's research is funded by the Children's Health Research Center and University Pediatric Foundation
