Department of Pediatrics 2004 Annual Report
"At the University of Minnesota Department of Pediatrics, we realize that our journey toward better health for children is still in its infancy. That's why we are structured to generate the new research discoveries that will be needed to tackle the above challenges and more. We have world-class research in cancer, stem cells, genetic diseases, adolescent behavior, lung conditions, and infectious diseases, to name a few. We are committed to translating this new knowledge to the care of children as soon as possible. And we are dedicated to training the next generation of pediatricians, scientists, and educators--so that they may pave their own paths to further advance children's health.
This emphasis on breakthrough medicine that directly affects children's health makes us different from all other pediatric institutions in the Twin Cities."
