Dr. Nelson received her MD from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, MO in 1996. She went on to complete her Pediatric Residency in Psychiatry and Child Psychiatry at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown University School of Medicine in 2001 and a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2004.
