The Benchmark Lab is a half-day procedure workshop (8:30 am to 1:30 pm) intended to familiarize you with procedural skills needed in acute situations.

Important Information
Time: 8:30AM- 1:30PM
Please arrive no later than 8:15AM. Allow plenty of time to find the room (The Mayo Building is a maze!)
Where: East Bank Campus, University of Minnesota Perioperative Simulation Center Mayo A503
Please park in the Washington Avenue Ramp (or any other University of Minnesota Ramp) and we will stamp your ticket to cover the cost of your parking. (See directions below). We are NOT able to validate tickets for the Delaware street ramp.
You are responsible for providing your own scrubs. Please report to the Mayo Building, Room A503. A locker will be provided for personal belongings and valuables. You do not need to bring anything with you to the lab.
Please remember to eat beforehand! You will be standing for four hours with no breaks in a warm, low ventilated room. We recommend that you get the energy you need prior to lab!
Cancellation/No Show Policy: Residents who cancel for any reason must give notice of their cancellation before 3:30PM at least 5 business days prior to the lab. The other residency programs will then be notified in order to attempt to find a replacement participant for the lab. If this notice is not given, the respective residency program will be charged $455 per no show resident. This policy is necessary in order to ensure that the maximum number of residents have the opportunity to take part in the lab.

Directions to the Department of Emergency Medicine

Once you have parked (in the Washington Ave. ramp), proceed to the elevators which are located at the southwest corner of the ramp (toward Washington Avenue).

Take the elevator to the B level, and follow the tunnel to Moos Tower.

When you enter Moos Tower, continue to walk straight ahead until you reach the Outside In Cafeteria, which is in the Phillips-Wangensteen Building.

Turn right just before the Outside In Cafe and proceed up the ramped walkway until you reach a "T". You are now on the 2nd floor in the Mayo Building.

Turn left, then take an immediate right and you will be in the main elevator bank. Take any elevator to the 5th floor, then go down the hallway marked corridor "A". The University of Minnesota Perioperative Simulation Center is in room A503.
