Tracks for the Computer Match and NMSI Codes
The Internship participates in the APPIC computer matching program conducted by National Matching Services, Inc (NMSI). The matching program is an orderly means of helping applicants obtain internship positions. Applicants must submit a rank order list of their desired programs to NMSI by the early February deadline of the NMSI matching program. Applicants and programs are given the final results of the match a few weeks later. The dates vary from year to year and are available on the NMSI website. Neither applicants nor programs will obtain information about each other s actual rankings before or after that date.
The internet web site for the match is:
http://www.natmatch.com/psychint
(Please note that all characters are lower case). The web site provides information about the matching program, including an overview, rules for participation, the schedule of dates, description of the matching process, etc. It is essential that applicants use the online form to request the Applicant Agreement package for registering in the Matching Program or reach NMSI to request information and an Applicant Registration by e-mail at mailto:psychint@natmatch.com. The deadline for applicants to return their agreement forms to NMSI in order for their name and code number to be included in the listing of participating applicants is listed on the NMSI website.
Based on the unique and complementary opportunities of our rotations, we use the Multiple Rank Order Lists option according to interns preferences of their top two choices of rotation. In other words, applicants will apply to the track(s) that involve the pair(s) of rotations they seek most highly. Applicants are encouraged to apply to one, two, or all three tracks (i.e., combinations of rotations) available at the University of Minnesota Medical School based on their pattern of interests. This arrangement is intended to give interns maximal choice about their internship experiences. For each of the three tracks, there will be two intern slots. For the purpose of the NMSI computer matching system, applicants specify which of the following three tracks (i.e. paired combinations of rotations) to which they are applying.
