Donor age distribution has remained fairly constant across eras, about 11% >50 years for all categories. For 1998-2003 primary DD recipients, pancreas GSRs were higher with younger donors and lower with older donors (Figure 15a), primarily due to technical failure (TF) rates (Figure 15b) related to increasing donor age. Pancreas GSRs at 1-year with DDs 20-29 years vs. DDs 50-59 years were: SPK 89% (n=1306) vs. 71% (n=142); PAK 81% (n=314) vs. 73% (n=3); PTA 80% (n=123) vs. 65% (n=17). Respective TF rates were 7% vs. 18% SPK; 11% vs. 13% PAK; 6% vs. 23% PTA.
