Transplant Information Services (TIS) is a partnership of the University of Minnesota Academic Health Center, University of Minnesota Physicians and Fairview Health Services that supports the collection, coordination, and dissemination of pre-transplant and post-transplant information across transplant services. Under a Board of Directors comprised of medical and senior management from each of the partners, TIS functions to:
1. Implement a single, clinical system for solid organ transplant and islet transplant;
2. Consolidate data collection functions and integrate existing databases, across all solid organ transplant research;
3. Construct interfaces with hospital and clinic systems to support clinical care and solid organ transplant research;
4. Continuously monitor the outcomes of solid organ transplant for regulatory reporting, patient care and solid organ transplant research; and
5. Manage data collection activities and specialized databases needed to support cutting-edge solid organ transplant research.
TIS enhances patient care by streamlining communication among all professionals involved in transplantations, assure compliance with HIPAA regulations and provides timely and accurate information for solid organ transplant research.
