The Board of Directors is responsive to organ-specific stakeholders through the Transplant Strategy Council.  Eight Transplant Program Directors have seats on the Council and represent their respective programs.  They have the responsibility to communicate back to organ specific transplant program team leaders and members, and make recommendations the TIS Board regarding policies.  While there is an expectation that the Board of Directors heeds the advice of the council, the governance, strategy and fiduciary responsibility for TIS ultimately resides with the Board of Directors.
