Research Interests: My research focus is the epidemiology of otitis media (OM). I study the entire continuum of OM, from factors that predict onset in the first few months of life (e.g. antibody levels, genetic, prenatal and environmental factors) to long term sequelae resulting from OM recurrence and chronicity. Studying the epidemiology of OM is the key to elucidating risk factors that would be useful in developing prevention strategies. I am currently involved in a genetic study of recurrent and chronic OM.
