A Night Out with Family Medicine

Third- and fourth-year medical students interested in family medicine are invited to learn more about sports medicine. Medical students will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker afterwards and meet other family physicians and residents from the U of M family medicine residency programs. A hors d'oeuvre buffet is available during the social, 5:30 - 6:30 p.m., and after the presentation. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Transition Day prepares second-year students for patient care activities. Speakers cover professionalism, ethics, and the importance of humanism and compassion toward patients. Students attend patient care workshops.

The two- to three-day Rural Observation Experience for incoming first- and second-year medical students offers the opportunity to shadow a rural family physician and see first-hand the rewards and challenges of a rural practice.
