Our department is ranked among the top five NIH-funded family medicine departments in the nation. We have a large group of research-productive faculty in areas such as:

• care and prevention of chronic diseases (diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular)
• mental and behavioral health
• human sexuality and HIV prevention
• women's health
• health disparities
• medical education

Our faculty are extensively supported in their research efforts through skills development workshops and courses, and we provide the following in-house technical services:

• accessing literature
• designing a study
• acquiring grant funding
• publishing results
