Jeremy Springer, MDJeremy Springer, MD, program director, graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in biomedical statistics and an interest in public health and epidemiology. He trained as a physician assistant in the U.S. Army where he was introduced to trauma and emergency medicine. When he joined the civilian ranks in 1978, he worked in rural southwest Minnesota until 1983 and developed a keen interest in sports medicine. After graduation from the University of Minnesota Medical School in 1987, he completed his residency at the University of Minnesota Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program and practiced in Hopkins, Minnesota, a small town swallowed up by the westward expansion of the Twin Cities. There, he delivered babies, learned a lot about office surgical procedures, saw to the needs of the geriatric population, and honed his skills in behavioral medicine and his interest in adolescent health care. He joined the faculty of the Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in 1997 and became program director in 2000. Dr. Springer received a CAQ in adolescent medicine in 2005. He likes to camp, listen to music, and take pictures. He frequently has a new photo of his twin grandsons.

Mary Wagner, MDMary Wagner, MD, assistant program director, is a native of rural New York State and came to Minnesota because it seemed like a good place to live, and she only questions that choice for a few weeks every February. She attended medical school at SUNY Upstate in Syracuse, New York, and did her residency in the Cincinnati area at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Covington, Kentucky. After residency, she fulfilled her medical school scholarship commitment to the Air Force during the time of the Gulf War, and has since practiced in Illinois and in the suburban Twin Cities. She has been on the faculty at Methodist since 2001, and became assistant director in 2003. Her medical interests include management of chronic diseases, the processes of care delivery, and the integration of physical and mental health. Outside of medicine, she's an enthusiastic amateur baker, an avid reader of mystery and romance novels, and is over-involved with church and school volunteer commitments. She and her pastor husband have two half-grown sons and live in St. Louis Park.

Michael Dukinfield, MDMichael Dukinfield, MD, graduated from the University of Minnesota Medical School and in 1982 finished his family medicine residency at Regions Hospital. He joined the faculty in 1998 after practicing at Park Nicollet for 16 years. His current duties include serving as clinic medical director and resident geriatrician, and teaching OB ultrasound. Outside of work, he likes to travel, visit with his two adult children, and keep track of his miniature Schnauzer and his glasses. He enjoys music, mystery novels, sweets, and catching up on sleep (the order varies in a Mazlovian hierarchy). For recreation, he likes to bike, fiddle in the yard, and drive golf balls into ponds, forests, and the occasional fairway.

Diane Dunn, RNC, NPDiane Dunn, RNC, NP, graduated from the College of St Catherine, St. Paul, Minnesota. Prior to joining Park Nicollet in March 2005, she spent five years as a geriatric nurse practitioner in long-term care. She enjoys working with older adults and their families to manage their medical needs and promote the maximal level of functioning. Her interests include geriatrics and teaching nurses, residents, and patients.

Allyson Hayward, MSWAllyson Hayward, MSW, behaviorist, grew up in Michigan and spent most of her adult life in Kansas City, Missouri. She completed her MSW with an emphasis in mental health at the University of Kansas. She moved to Minneapolis six years ago and has become devoted to her bicycle. She lives with three cats who allow her closet space, half the bed, and unlimited TV privileges in exchange for getting to lie on whatever item she happens to be knitting. She has counseled people struggling with HIV, addiction, homelessness, trauma, and eating disorders, and taught social work practice skills to undergraduate and graduate students.

Steven Kind, MDSteven Kind, MD, enjoyed growing up hiking, biking, canoeing, and horseback riding in the Minnesota River valley around St. Peter. He played trumpet in literally every musical group possible while at Gustavus Adolphus College, but now just plays around on his acoustic guitar. He attended the University of Minnesota Medical School Duluth and met his wife there. He liked living in Iowa (only a brave Minnesotan will admit liking Iowa!) during his residency in Cedar Rapids. He practiced in Excelsior, Minnesota, for nine years before joining the Methodist faculty in 1996. He loves using neat, succinct chart forms while caring for patients. That has led him to part-time work on the Methodist Hospital/Park Nicollet Clinic electronic medical record project. In his spare time, he bikes, runs, and boats, and makes apple crisp and pancakes with his daughter.

William Knopp, MDWilliam Knopp, MD, attended the University of Cincinnati Medical School, completed his residency at West Suburban Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Oak Park, Illinois, and did a primary care sports medicine fellowship at Kaiser Permanente in Fontana, California. His interests in medicine include the breadth of family medicine as well as a particular interest in primary care sports medicine. His interest in sports medicine comes from a personal involvement in many sports, especially tennis. He played varsity tennis in high school and at the University of Toledo. He continues to play tennis and work out regularly. He is very involved with the sports medicine community in the Twin Cities. Dr. Knopp considers himself very fortunate to have three wonderful children and enjoys his family life immensely. He and his wife enjoy the outdoors, theatre, environmental issues, and exploring life with their children.

Lynn Manning, MDLynn Manning, MD, received her medical degree from Hahnemann Medical College in Philadelphia and completed her residency in family medicine at Duke University. She has practiced in a variety of settings including a large managed care organization, a small private practice, and for the past ten years at Park Nicollet Clinic. She has taught medical students and residents part-time throughout her career. Her special interests include preventive care and hospital medicine.

Shannon M. Neale, MDShannon Neale, MD, grew up in Albert Lea, Minnesota. She attended Wartburg College and the University of Minnesota Medical School at Duluth and Minneapolis. After completing residency at the San Jose Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, she practiced in Santa Cruz, California, for eight years. Dr. Neale moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family and joined the residency program in 2003. She has special interests in obstetrics, women’s and children’s health, and practice management. She and her husband, also a family physician, have three children. In her free time she swims, gardens, drives her kids to their activities, and loves spending time outdoors.

James Parnell, MDJames Parnell, MD, grew up in Connecticut, and attended Brown University and the University of Connecticut Medical School. He found his way to Minnesota and completed the Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program. Deciding to stay in Minnesota, he purchased his first home in St. Louis Park. He has continued being involved with the residency as a part-time faculty member. Dr. Parnell enjoys motorcycling, golfing, trying to get in shape, being generally goofy, and the company of his two trusted cats and loyal dog.

Teresa Quinn, MDTeresa Quinn, MD, grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin Medical School and completed the St. Paul Ramsey (now Regions Hospital) family medicine residency. She worked in Nicaragua during medical school and in the refugee camps in Thailand after residency. She has a CAQ in geriatrics and is boarded in medical hypnosis. She enjoys being with her family and friends, being outdoors, and walking her dog.
