Lillehei Scholars, Lillehei Heart Institute at the University of Minnesota


The Lillehei Scholars Program supports the mission of the Lillehei Heart Institute by its funding of cardiovascular and respiratory research fellowships and grants to University of Minnesota faculty and students. Each year a Request for Applications (RFA) is announced throughout the University and on this web site. Application deadline is April 15, with the selection of award recipients by the LHI Scientific Advisory Committee for July 1, 2003 activation. Check with LHI's Admin Director for current status.

There is only one general application form for the fellowship applications, except for the Undergraduate Research Opportunity (UROP), which uses the UROP application and review process, as LHI provides only the funding for this award.

The application process for the two research grant categories differs; the general application form is used for the Pilot Research Grant application, while the Grant Revision Award application is a copy of a previously submitted, non-funded, but favorably peer-reviewed national grant proposal.
