Postdoctoral Fellowship
"Mechanism of Endothelial Dysfunction in the Failing Heart"
Mentor: Robert J. Bache, M.D.

Dr. Li received her M.D. degree in China and subsequently spent one year as a member of the cardiology clinical faculty in Qingdao; During this time she was selected for further academic studies and entered the graduate program in Cardiovascular Molecular Biology and Regulatory Peptides at Peking University in 1997. In 2001 She was recruited to Dr. Robert Bache’s lab as a postdoctoral associate. She is interested in the finding of an increase in expression of the gene for dimethylarginine dimethylaminohydrolase(DDAH) following a period of left ventricular assist device(LVAD) placement in patients with congestive heart failure. Her project will help to understand more about the endothelial dysfunction known to exist in the setting of heart failure.
