Diverse Research Opportunities, Combined MD/PhD Program at the University of Minnesota

Hasselmo Hall

MSTP students at the University of Minnesota can pursue research opportunities in a broad range of training environments encompassed in the graduate programs that are affiliated with the MD/PhD Program.  Many research preceptors hold appointments in multiple Graduate Programs, thereby allowing our students additional flexibility in selecting the Graduate Program that meets their needs.  MD/PhD Program faculty research preceptors are involved in an expansive variety of research areas.  Descriptions of faculty research activities can be found under the Related Links section of this page.

In addition to the individual Graduate Programs, the University of Minnesota has many centers and institutes that focus on specific disciplines or diseases. The vast majority of MSTP faculty preceptors are members of one or more centers and/or institutes, providing students with additional collaborative resources for their research.
